We Support Student Peace Activists

The Student Peace Awards of Fairfax County was founded to encourage adults and young people alike to think about the concept of peace as both a means and an end. It’s mission is to recognize young people who are working as peacemakers to make positive change in the world.

The Student Peace Awards has grown to sponsor students from 29 area high schools in Fairfax County. The program originally began under the sponsorship & coordination of Herndon Friends Meeting. It has grown to include sponsors from 12 area diverse faith communities & congregations, including our Christian Science church here in Fairfax.

There are an additional ten sponsors from charitable and educational nonprofit organizations as well as businesses and foundations from the community who support this endeavor as well.

The Fairfax County Student Peace Awards has attracted support and widespread recognition from both northern Virginia and statewide leaders as well, including Virginia congressmen and congresswomen.

Every year, representatives from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the Fairfax County School Board present certificates of recognition to the award winners.

We are very proud to support this wonderful program to honor young people doing good in our community and beyond.
